Flat-Broke Films and the owners of “The Captain’s House”, Clifford and Josie Parker, invited over 50 guests and friends on Saturday 9th October, 2010 to the unveiling of a Blue Plaque and an Information Sign. This was to commemorate the fact that Captain Jack Crocombe lived there from 1894 until 1908, and in 1899 he led the famous lifeboat rescue of the Forrest Hall ship known to the World as “The Overland Launch”. Local historian Jim Binding and “Hearts of Oak” folk group entertained the guests with rousing sea shanties which were appreciated by all. Since the unveiling, 100’s of people have visited Jack’s house at 1 Tors Road, Lynmouth, North Devon to see the Blue Plaque and Info Sign which is great news for Clifford & Josie.
