A TORSO, THE GIGOLO & HIS LOVER
The victim? Captain William Bernard Butt. Gigolo Brian Sullivan was found dead at Tower Lodge.
Adrian Tyson & Nick Duffy of Stick Around Films Ltd (Scarborough, North Yorkshire) and David Reynolds of Flat-Broke Films Ltd (Cheltenham, Gloucestershire) are co-developing a feature film project based upon the real events surrounding the infamous 1938 Torso murder which intrigued the nation. The gruesome events covered Cheltenham, Tirley, Tewkesbury, Gloucester, London and Cornwall. Without a doubt the core people who were involved and looked outwardly innocent were in fact mixed up in a world of blackmail, illegal abortions, homosexuality and murder! Through Film Producer Richard Vizor’s new production company, Guiding Star Films Ltd, Adrian, Nick and David are working hard researching the project and developing a gritty screenplay which will lead to a “who’s torso body is it??” plotline and “where’s the head??”. Richard has already had interest in the project from leading UK & USA Directors who can see its potential for a very deep & dark story as the crime remains an “Unsolved Case”. (May 2011)

Hack! Locations
The Manor House at Aston-on-Carrant - Captain and Mrs Butt lived here for eight years when for some reason they moved "down-market" to a semi-detatched house in Old Bath Road, Cheltenham in March 1935.
It was at St Nicholas Church, Ashchurch near Tewkesbury that Miss Edith Florence Tombs Hogg married Captain William Bernard Butt on 23rd February 1927. Miss Hogg was a wealthy 46 year old spinster who had inherited the Manor House in Aston-on-Carrant, and Captain Butt (50) a recent widower had been searching for a lady of means.
